Meet the Resolute Series (FP8000), and Our New Website

Unboxed, set up and taking first points in under 10 minutes. The Resolute series (FP8000) is the next generation of portable 3D measurement from Boulder Innovation Group, with sub-millimeter static accuracy within 5 m and NIST-traceable calibration.

We’ve been designing and building optical measurement systems in Louisville, Colorado since 2001. Resolute brings those 25 years into our easiest-to-use system yet, for part inspection, reverse engineering and fit checks against your CAD, in the shop or out in the field.

What’s new in Resolute

  • A wireless probe. There’s no arm to mount or reposition. Walk around the part and take only the points you need.
  • Small parts to whole vehicles. A measuring range up to 10 m covers a bracket on the bench or a full vehicle body, with no stitching.
  • Any finish. Shiny, chrome, dark or clear surfaces need no spray or targets, because the probe tip does the measuring.
  • Bright light and outdoors. An automatic shutter adjusts for bright shop bays and outdoor work.
  • Your software. BIG’s plug-ins for Rhino3D, SolidWorks and CMM-Manager send points straight into your model as you measure.
  • Portable. It fits in a carry-on case and weighs 15 lbs.

Resolute comes in two bar lengths: 900 mm for the highest accuracy, or 400 mm where a compact footprint matters more. The full figures are on the Resolute specifications page.

Early access

Resolute Probe

We’re offering a limited number of pre-production systems ahead of our 2027 production launch. Each comes with everything you need to start measuring: the camera (900 mm or 400 mm), tripod and tripod head, wireless probe and charger, two probe tips, BIG measuring software and a rugged carrying case.

Early-access systems come with early-bird pricing, which goes up at production release. Contact us to ask about pricing.

A new website

We’ve also rebuilt this site to make it easier to find what you need. Start from your application under Industries, from Automotive and Reverse Engineering to Custom Applications with custom cameras, tools and software. Every product, including Resolute, is under Products.

Have an application in mind? Book a demo at our Louisville facility, at your shop if you’re within about an hour of Louisville, or live by video. A demo runs about an hour, with time for your questions.

Heading to SEMA in Las Vegas, November 3–6? Come see the Resolute series at booth #93010 in the Main Hall Annex.
